Coolsculpting & ZWave

Before & After Photos

If you are reasonably fit, exercise regularly, eat sensibly and still cannot eliminate stubborn fat on certain parts of your body, CoolSculpting can help. CoolSculpting enables people who want to address a smaller unwanted bulge here or there to improve the contour of their bodies without surgery and longer recovery time with procedures such as liposuction and tummy tucks. The CoolSculpting device, which was FDA-approved 5 years ago, is a clinically proven, non-surgical procedure designed to gently and effectively reduce fat in targeted areas of the body, including the abdomen, flanks (love handles), and inner and outer thighs. CoolSculpting uses a precisely controlled cooling technology to target, cool and eliminate fat cells through a gradual and natural process without causing damage to the surrounding tissue and skin. Patients typically observe that 3 months after being treated with CoolSculpting, the fat layer of each treated area has diminished by 20 percent or more. Once treated, the fat cells are gone for good.

Coolsculpting FAQs

What happens during the procedure?

The treatment itself is a 60-120 minute in-office procedure performed by our Aesthetic Medical Technicians. During the procedure, an applicator, or hand piece, is applied to the surface of the skin and a suction pulls the loose tissue into the hand piece. The tissue inside the hand piece is cooled in a precise and controlled manner, and because fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than surrounding tissues, only the fat cells are damaged. After CoolSculpting treatment, your Aesthetic Medical Technician will massage the area with the ZWave device, which delivers uniform pulses that effectively break up the fat cells in the area treated.

*Most offices perform the post-treatment massage manually, but we’ve found that doing the massage with ZWave makes for a dramatically more comfortable experience, reduces post-treatment swelling and bruising, and allows you to see full results significantly faster. Most importantly, ZWave almost doubles the percentage of fat absorption, so you get better results than you would with CoolSculpting alone.

When can I return to normal activities?

Since CoolSculpting is non-invasive, you can get back to your normal activities right away, including work and exercise routines. Some patients experience redness, swelling, minor bruising, tingling, or numbness in the treated area, but this is temporary.

When will I see results?

Patients typically start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after their treatment, and experience the most dramatic results after two months. After three months, patients generally report a 20-25% reduction in fat in the treated area, and the body’s lymphatic system continues to flush fat cells for up to four months after the treatment. If additional fat reduction is desired three months after the initial treatment is complete, patients may opt to have additional treatments to obtain further reduction in specific areas.

Are results permanent?

As with liposuction, fat cells treated with CoolSculpting are eliminated permanently. As long as the patient maintains his or her weight with diet and exercise, long-term results should remain stable.

Am I a good candidate for CoolSculpting?

The best CoolSculpting candidates are men or women who are within 10 to 15 pounds of their ideal body weight who have a noticeable bulge or bump despite having a healthy diet and exercise routine. CoolSculpting is a great alternative for those patients who don’t need or want to undergo liposuction surgery.
