Although there are different approaches to this problem, the most common one involves reshaping cartilage from behind the ear and then resuturing the ear. This pulls the ear closer to the head. All the work is done behind the ear so scars are usually unnoticeable or hidden in the creases. The procedure usually takes about one to two hours and is performed in the in-office surgical suite under local or sedation. After surgery, the ears are covered with a dressing. Usually any soreness or discomfort can be easily controlled with medication. Most patients can resume regular activities a day or two after surgery. Consultation Request Form
